Web analytics that counts people, not bots posing as them

Analytics scripts count whatever runs them. Automated browsers run them too, so raw visitor numbers can be far higher than the people behind them. LogZuno counts a visitor as a person only after a real tap, click, key press or scroll, labels everything else, and shows you both.
LogZuno web analytics: pageviews, people, views per visitor and the share of automated traffic, with a 30-day chart
  • People, confirmed

A visitor counts as a person after a real tap, click, key press or scroll.

  • Automation labelled

Kept with the reason, and never counted against your plan.

  • 9 AI assistants

ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude and six more as their own channel.

  • No IP addresses stored

Used once at the edge, then discarded.

People, unconfirmed and automated, side by side

  • People

Visitors whose browser reported a trusted interaction. This is the headline number.

  • Unconfirmed

Visitors who loaded the page but never interacted. Some are people who read and left; some are bots that run JavaScript.

  • Automated

Requests that announce themselves (crawlers, HTTP libraries), automated browsers (webdriver, headless client hints) and cloud networks with no interaction. Kept, labelled with the reason, and never counted against your plan.

  • Your own team

List your office or VPN networks and they're left out of people and AI figures.

Channels, including AI assistants

  • Standard channels

Search, social, email, paid, referral and direct, by the same rules GA4 uses for its default channel group.

  • AI assistants

ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, Meta AI, DeepSeek, Grok and Le Chat as their own channel, by referrer or UTM tag.

  • Likely AI visits

With AI visibility on, a visit with no referrer that lands just after a verified ChatGPT fetch of the same page is shown as Likely ChatGPT, kept apart from proven visits.

  • Everything else

Pages, referrers, UTM campaigns, countries on a world map, devices, browsers, operating systems and screen sizes. Click any value to filter.

No IP addresses stored

Illustration: what LogZuno does with a visitor's request. The IP address is used to verify the request and is then discarded; only a visitor ID, the country from Cloudflare and the browser are stored.
  • Unique visitors without IPs

With the LogZuno script, a visitor is a random first-party ID. Without it, a hash that changes every day. The IP address is used once and discarded.

  • Country from the edge

The country comes from Cloudflare at the edge, not from a stored IP.

Questions

Why is my LogZuno visitor count lower than Google Analytics?

Usually because LogZuno's headline number only counts people who interacted with the page. Choose All traffic to see every page load, and the gap between the two shows how much was automated.

Can a bot fake an interaction?

A sophisticated one can. Requiring a trusted interaction raises the bar a long way, but it can't prove a human, and LogZuno says so in the product.

What is web analytics?

Web analytics measures traffic to a website: visitors, pageviews, where they came from, which pages they read and which campaigns brought them. It helps you see which channels and content work.

How does web analytics work in LogZuno?

A script tag on your pages records each pageview with its URL, referrer and campaign tags. A visitor counts as a person after a real interaction; everything else is labelled as unconfirmed or automated. Server-side collectors add the AI assistants and crawlers that never run the script.

What is the difference between web analytics and Google Analytics?

Google Analytics is one web analytics tool. LogZuno is another, with three differences: it separates people from automated browsers instead of hiding or counting them, it shows AI assistants as their own channel, and it joins website visits to product events in the same project.

Does LogZuno use cookies?

The LogZuno script stores a random first-party ID so a returning visitor is counted once. It doesn't store IP addresses and doesn't share data with advertisers. Check your local rules on consent for first-party analytics.

Is LogZuno web analytics free?

No. Web analytics is included in every paid plan, from $17 a month, with a 7-day free trial on any plan.
