Definition
Product usage rate describes how intensively people use a product: how often they come, how many core actions they take, and how many of its features they use.
Common measures
- Active days per user in a month.
- Core actions per active user per week.
- Feature breadth: key features used per user.
- Seat usage: active users ÷ seats paid for, for B2B.
Why it matters
Falling usage comes before churn; rising usage before expansion. Track it per account and act on changes.
