Answers to the questions people ask most: projects, team members, keys, charts, funnels and the built-in user segments.

Projects and your team

What is a project? A project holds the events, users, groups and pageviews of one product or website, with its own charts, dashboards, alerts and API keys. Create as many as you need; every plan has unlimited projects. See projects, keys and channels.

How do I add a team member? Open Organisation → Members and invite them by email, choosing a role: admin, member or viewer. The invitation is valid for 7 days and can only be accepted by that email address once it is verified. Every plan has unlimited members.

How do I create an API key? Open Project settings → API keys, choose a name and scopes, and copy the key. It is shown once. Use an ingest key to send data, a server traffic key for AI visibility collectors, and read or admin keys for the REST API.

Events and channels

What is an event? A record that something happened: a user signed up, an invoice was paid, a deploy failed. Each event has a name and a channel, and optionally a user, a group, a description, an icon and properties. See sending events.

What is a channel? A way to group related events, such as billing or errors. Channels are created the first time an event names them. Mute a channel under Project settings → Channels and its events push to no one.

Why didn't I get a push notification? Only events sent with notify: true push, only to members who turned on notifications in their browser, and never from a muted channel.

Charts

How do I make a line or bar chart? Open Charts → New chart and choose Line chart or Bar chart. Pick the event to count, how to count it (events, unique users, or a sum or average of a property), the date range and the interval. Add a breakdown to split the line by a property, such as plan.

How do I make a funnel? Choose Funnel chart, add the steps in order (up to 10), and set the conversion window. A step only counts people who did the earlier steps first, inside the window. Open any step to see who reached it and who didn't.

How do I compare several events? Choose Multi-line chart or add more series to any trends chart, up to 10. A formula such as A / B turns two series into a rate.

Users

What are active, engaged and drifting users? They are built-in segments on the Users page, each over 1, 7, 14 or 30 days. Active users did something in the period; engaged users are the same people sorted by how much they did; drifting users haven't been seen for longer than the period. The full list is in identify users.

What is the power-user curve? The Frequency chart: how many people used the product on 1, 2, 3 or more days of the period. A curve that rises at the right means a group that uses the product almost every day.

Web analytics

Why are my visitor numbers lower than in Google Analytics? LogZuno's headline counts people who interacted with the page. Choose All traffic to see every page load; the difference is mostly automated traffic. See web analytics.

Billing

When am I charged? When the 7-day trial ends, unless you cancel before. Invoices are under Organisation → Billing.

What happens at my plan's limit? We email you at 80%, 90% and 100%. Past 100%, new events are refused until the next period or until you upgrade.
